Meet the Artist

Hi! My name is Melissa Gust and I’m the one behind Keeping It Together Pottery, KIT for short. There are two sides to my business; one aimed solely for the purpose of functionality, and the other bring unique and one of a kind pieces of art into the world.

I started my ceramic journey in college fulfilling my 3-dimensional requirement for a B.A. This class got me hooked and I ended up with my BFA from the University of Minnesota in 2019. I worked primarily in ceramic sculpture but realized shortly after graduation that finding a facility for large sculpture is a tough task. I ended up finding my way to Fired Up Studios and have been there ever since evolving and honing my craft. Along with my own work, I work part-time at Fired Up Studios as a ceramic tech and instructor.
